The Inland Waterways Association of Ireland made a generous donation to the Irish Sri Lanka Trust Fund. A Home for the Elders is to be built with this donation and will be named "Irelands Haven Trust".

Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Samarakoon, who is a trustee of the Irish Sri Lanka Trust Fund Sri Lanka, donated the land for this project. Which is situated at Pinwattehena, Gampaha. Which is approximately 20kms from Sri Lanka's International Airport.

The Home for the Elders will constitute of two dormitories for 12 males and 12 females, 7 apartments for couples and three chalets for over seas visitors. It will be a self contained complex with all amenities. It will be totally Eco friendly.

The foundation stone was laid on the 29th May 2007 and the project should be completed by December 2007.

The Irish Sri Lanka Trust Fund would sincerely like to thank The Inland Waterways Association of Ireland for their kind generosity.

The Shelbourne Park Village is completed and is currently occupied by 32 families, the Irish Village is completed and occupied by 28 families and 10 houses in Moneragama are also occupied.
